Brio Digital are excited to be working with a Retail consultancy who work with some of the largest retail brands in the UK who are currently looking for a GCP Data Engineer with a strong architectural background.

You will need to have experience in designing and integrating data solutions, with a particular focus on BigQuery. Any experience in the retail sector would definitely be handy for this one.

Role Overview;

Title: GCP Data Engineer

Rate: £450 Outside IR35

Duration: 3 months with a good chance of renewal

Location: You will need to be on client site 1-2x/week in Central London.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect Data Solutions: Design, develop, and implement robust and scalable data architectures in Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • In-depth knowledge of BigQuery to optimize data warehouse design, query performance, and data modeling.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to integrate and migrate data from various sources into the GCP environment, ensuring data consistency and reliability.
  • Monitor data pipelines and queries to ensure optimal performance and reliability of data processing and analysis.
  • Implement and enforce data security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Create comprehensive documentation for data architectures and processes to facilitate knowledge transfer and support future maintenance.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a GCP Data Engineer with a strong architectural focus.
  • Extensive experience with GCP services, particularly BigQuery, Dataflow, and other data-related technologies.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, and data integration.
  • Strong expertise in data modeling, query optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with retail data and business processes is a plus.
