Senior Software Engineer - Java, Angular - Permanent, Leeds (Hybrid)
Brio Digital is working closely with a Tech for Good software company in Leeds. They build platforms which enable researchers and scientists to collaborate more closely. They are looking for two Senior Java Developers to work as part of a close-knit team. The opportunities are both full stack and they are using Angular in the front end.
Job Description:
Are you a talented and experienced Java Developer with a passion for building modern web applications using Java and Angular? You’d be joining a dynamic team where you’d contribute to the development of cutting-edge software solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based web applications with a focus on Angular front-end development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and QA engineers, to deliver high-quality software products.
- Ensure code quality, performance, and security by conducting code reviews and adhering to best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues in a timely manner.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve your skills and contribute innovative ideas.
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Proven experience as a Java Developer with expertise in Angular – (Angular beneficial)
- Strong proficiency in Java and web development technologies (Spring Boot, Hibernate, etc.).
- Solid understanding of front-end development technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
- Hands-on experience with Angular (Angular beneficial)
- Knowledge of RESTful API design and integration.
- Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Any experience of the following is nice-to-have
- Experience with responsive web design and mobile app development.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Experience with automated testing frameworks.
- Agile/Scrum development experience.
- Strong documentation and technical writing skills.
